Biographical description


Dr. Darlington Tshuma, Ph.D., is a policy analyst, researcher, and governance specialist with a focus on African governance and politics. With an extensive academic and professional background, he has collaborated with non-profit organizations, Universities and think tanks in Africa and Europe and led various consultancy projects related to governance and policy issues. His research work centres around various aspects of governance in Africa including colonial encounters, human rights, democracy, gender, human security, African development, African nationalism, Leadership, and contemporary African politics, particularly in East, Central and Southern Africa. He has published widely in leading prestigious national, regional, and international journals and periodicals. Some of the notable publications where his work can be found include Conflict Trends (published by ACCORD), the South African Journal of International Affairs (SAJIA), and the Horn of Africa Bulletin (HAB). These publications are well-respected platforms in the field of African politics and governance. His work has contributed to the discourse on governance and politics in Africa. He has also presented academic papers at conferences and events in several countries, including Italy, Germany, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Zimbabwe. He holds the prestigious position of being an inaugural Africa Policy Fellow at the School of Transnational Governance (STG) at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy and is affiliated with the Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) at the School of Advanced Study, University of London.
